During the first 30 days of your new Y membership, if you are not completely satisfied, you may cancel and receive a 100% refund on both your join fee and your membership dues by completing a refund request available at the Welcome Center. MEMBERSHIP FOR ALL Financial Aid Available At the Y, we want to make it easy and affordable for you and your family to stay healthy and fit together, so we offer income based rates for membership and programs. Please check with our Welcome Center for details.REGISTERING FOR PROGRAMS To register in person or find out about our membership types, visit one of our Welcome Centers. To register online, you must have a current Facility Membership or create a YMCA log-in and you must be ready to pay with a debit or credit card. Registration for Facility Members begins one week before registration for Non-Members. Program must be paid in full at time of registration. For the fastest, most convenient registration, please visit us online at www.graniteymca.org and select view program availability.REFUNDS, TRANSFERS OR CANCELLATIONSWe are always happy to accommodate program changes and transfers as long as space is available and your request is made before the session begins.If you need to cancel participation in a program, please cancel before the session begins as another member may be waiting for an opening. You will receive a full refund of your class fee if you cancel at least 7 days before the first class. After that point, refunds are given if you have a medical reason that is supportedwith a doctor’s note. Unfortunately, refunds cannot be given for scheduling conflicts or other reasons. MY Y IS EVERY Y Another great reason to belong to the YMCA! The Y is for healthy living and we want you to stay active and keep moving wherever you travel nationwide. As a Facility Member of The Granite YMCA, you have complete facility access and all privileges at the Goffstown, Manchester, Londonderry, Portsmouth, and Rochester branches. You can also register for any programs at those branches at Facility Member rates. Because the membership fee structure does vary between these branches, we ask that you maintain your membership at the branch that you plan to frequent most often.Share the Y! There is a $3 replacement charge for Y membership cards.INSURANCE REIMBURSEMENT Many insurance carriers provide full or partial reimbursement for membership and wellness programs. The Granite YMCA proudly partners with many local carriers. Please check with your insurance carrier or employer for further details.OUT OF WORK GUARANTEE The Y wants you to keep your membership even if you lose your job. The Y will suspend membership payments for up to three months for those current members who become unemployed. Proof of unemployment benefits from the Department of Employment Security is required. While we are eagerly awaiting your return, we want you to be aware that things may look a little different at your Y. We have adjusted some of our policies to help keep our members safe and healthy in our buildings. Before returning to the Y, please remember to:Answer Our Health Screening Questions.Before entering the Y... • Everyone must acknowledge the posted health screening questions. Please do not enter the building if you answer “yes” to any of the posted questions.• Masks are no longer required, but remain optional. Anyone who chooses to wear a mask will always have the option to do so and will be supported by our staff and the association. Please be respectful of others’ decisions and comfort levels regarding mask usage. The Granite YMCA may choose to adjust this mask policy again in the future in response to illness outbreaks and community spread. • Bring Your Own Equipment. We are asking all of our members to bring their own towel, yoga mat, water bottle and any other equipment you might need for a workout.• Clean Equipment After Use. Staff will be cleaning all equipment in between use. As an extra precaution, please sanitize your equipment before and after use as well.• Use One Piece of Equipment at a Time. If you are going to superset your workouts, please bring your equipment to a 10’ x 10’ space and clean the equipment & space after use.KEEPING OUR COMMUNITY SAFEYour safety and the safety of all our members, program participants, staff, and volunteers is our number one priority. We are following guidelines from health experts and local officials to ensure that our facilities meet the highest standards for hygiene and safety, and we have modified our policies and programs to facilitate safe physical/social distancing practices Please lead with our core values of honesty, caring, respect, and responsibility.LEARN MOREHEALTH INTERVENTION PROGRAMSTHE GRANITE YMCA | www.graniteymca.orgYMCA’S Diabetes Prevention Program focuses on small, measurable, reasonable goals to give participants confidence they can make the necessary changes to reduce their risk for type 2 diabetes and live healthier lives. In a classroom setting, a trained lifestyle coach will facilitate a small group of participants in learning about healthier eating, physical activity and other behavior changes over 25 sessions. The year-long program consists of 16 weekly sessions and 3 sessions every other week during the first 6 months followed by 6 monthly sessions in the second 6 months.GOALSThe program emphasizes two primary goals for the first half of the program: reduce body weight by 7% and increase physical activity by 150 minutes per week. Walk With Ease The Arthritis Foundation’s program, Walk With Ease, has been proven to reduce the pain of arthritis and improve overall health. This six-week program is for those who need relief from joint pain or who are simply looking to become more active. Participants are taught how to safely make physical activity a part of everyday life. This program is FREE for current facility members! In this self-directed enhanced version of the program, educational topics and support will be offered virtually each week, and multiple weekly group walk options will be available. After enrolling, each participant will be given a class guidebook and a schedule of group walks. In this program, we support cancer survivors in the transitional period between completing their cancer treatment and feeling physically and emotionally strong enough to return to their normal life.Our staff are trained exercise specialists. They are trained in the elements of cancer, post rehab exercise, and supportive cancer care. Our instructors come from varied backgrounds and have particular expertise in group exercise and personal training. We work with each participant to fit the program to their individual needs so they can practice a healthy lifestyle, not only as part of the recovery process, but as a way of life.Throughout the 12 weeks participants will:• Build muscle mass and muscle strength• Increase flexibility and endurance• Improve functional ability• Build companionship and share inspirational stories• Develop their own physical fitness program to continue practicing a healthy lifestyle• Improve energy levels and self esteemIMPROVEYOUR HEARTHEALTHMOVING FOR BETTER BALANCEBlood Pressure Self-Monitoring is designed to help adults with hypertension lower and manage their blood pressure. The four-month program focuses on regular home self-monitoring of one’s blood pressure using proper measuring techniques, one-on-one consultations with a trained Healthy Heart Ambassador, support and group-based nutrition education for better blood pressure management.GOALS• Reduction in blood pressure• Better blood pressure management• Increased awareness of triggers that elevate blood pressure• Enhanced knowledge to develop healthier eating habitsTai Ji Quan™: Moving for Better Balance aims to improve balance, coordination, and stability using gentle, low-impact movements based on the forms of Tai Chi. This progressive, evidence-based, 24-week program has been shown to increase confidence, reduce the risk of falling, and enhance overall fitness for participants. All levels are welcome. This program can accommodate individuals who need some assistance with walking, such as use of a cane. In addition to the program’s physical benefits, the safe, supportive group setting provides an opportunity for participants to enjoy learning with like-minded adults and find relief from the isolation that can sometimes come from living with limited mobility.Participants will:• Improve their balance• Increase their self-confidence• Gain a sense of achievement• Improve their well-beingEnhance®Fitnessis a proven community-based senior fitness and arthritis management program.
