This year’s annual report shares how the organization, through recent leadership transitions, new branch integrations, and community collaborations and funding, continues to offer exciting and purposeful programs and assistance for all who desire to be part of the Y. We would like to begin by introducing ourselves, the volunteer and staff leadership for The Granite YMCA.In January of 2022, Rob Glew was nominated and approved as the Chief Volunteer Officer (CVO) for the Y. Prior to becoming CVO, his journey with the Y has been one as a Y member, a community donor and since 2015, serving in a variety of roles as an advisory board member, chair for the Association Building and Grounds Committee, and past Secretary and Vice Chair for the Board of Trustees. Through these roles of volunteer engagement, Rob readily shares his strong communication and leadership skills. His deepening belief and commitment regarding the impact that the YMCAs services and facilities offer across our service area continues to be passionately demonstrated as he strongly advocates on behalf and for The Granite YMCA organization. The Chief Executive Officer leadership change occurred mid-fiscal year for The Granite YMCA, and after an interim period, Michele Sheppard, long term Chief Operating Officer, was named President and CEO in July of 2022. Her journey to becoming the new CEO began in 1986 as a Y Program Director in Pennsylvania and with four other associations in the YMCA movement. Since relocating to New Hampshire in 2009, she has been with The Granite YMCA in leadership of operations at both the branch and association level. Michele is fueled by a passion that as a Y, we deliver enriching learning experiences, create opportunities for lifelong relationships and that we ensure our Y offerings are accessible and welcoming to all.For both of us, the Y’s focus on furthering positive youth development, expanding health equity programming, and elevating social responsibility through the Y’s core values of honesty, caring, respect and responsibility are key to a healthy and thriving community. We are honored and committed to ensuring sustainability and growth for this integral and treasured organization. It is our honor to share the enclosed fiscal year 2022 Annual Report for The Granite YMCA.Thank you for being a donor, a member, staff and/or volunteer YMCA leader! Your efforts matter and support our impact. The summer of 2021 was the first real opportunity for campers to go back to some sense of normalcy after the COVID Pandemic. Campers re-learned social skills that had languished for more than a year. Confidence was regained and campers challenged themselves to new heights. • 789 campers attended Camp Foss • 832 campers attended Camp Mi-Te-NaDonor dollars were put to great use at both camps to financially assist families to send their children to camp. 59 Camp Mi-Te-Na campers and 53 Camp Foss campers were supported. Combined, more than $107,000 in financial assistance was given due to the generosity of The Granite YMCA annual fund donors to the Crescent Club and Willey Pond Society. This was my daughter's first time away at camp. She tends to be very shy. When I arrived at the end of her two weeks, the counselors told me how she came out of her shell. She was excited to share her adventures with us. After such a bad year in regards to COVID, Camp Foss was exactly what my daughter needed!Everything was absolutely amazing. As a family of a 1st time camper whom have never been away from each other for 2 weeks in 14 years everyone made the adjustment so smooth and comforting. My son had the best time, made great friends, loved his counselors, Zeb and Bobby, and couldn't stop talking about everything when I picked him up. This was huge since he's always so quiet. Thank you, YMCA, for the best summer and experiences for him!CAMP AFTER COVIDNext >
